A seven-figure business debt owed to a council by a long-closed college has been written off. Burton Manor College in Wirral closed more than 12 years ago. The adult education centre was used by a number of public authorities including Liverpool City Council and the University of Liverpool. Existing home sales rose 3% to start the year, but higher mortgage rates are already hurting
